TASTE is the largest annual culinary event in the Triangle area and includes a series of masterful culinary experiences. Since 2004, Moogfest has brought together artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists, and musicians. By day, Moogfest is a platform for conversation and experimentation. This mind-expanding conference attracts creative and technology enthusiasts for three days of participatory programming in Durham, North Carolina. By night, Moogfest presents cutting-edge music in venues throughout the city. Performing artists include early pioneers in electronic music, alongside pop and avant garde experimentalists of today. May 22 – 27:
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Baseball Championship takes over the Durham Bulls Athletic Park with 15 tournament games, including the championship on Sunday. The 2018 ACC Baseball Championship will be the event’s second year under a new format, featuring 12 teams in a pool play format leading into a four-team, single-elimination bracket to determine the league champion. Pool play will take place Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with three games per day. The ACC Fanfest will be held on Saturday of the tournament during the semi-final games and will take place on Blackwell Street, extending from Jackie Robinson Lane to Diamond View Way. Fanfest includes interactive booths from regional sponsors, vendors, autograph sessions, inflatables and more.
June 14 – July 21:
The American Dance Festival (ADF) celebrates its 85th season this year. The summer includes 53 performances by 26 companies and choreographers throughout Durham and Raleigh. The 2018 festival performances will take place at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC), Reynolds Industries Theater, the newly opened von der Heyden Studio Theater in the Rubenstein Arts Center, Baldwin Auditorium, North Carolina Museum of Art, The Carolina Theatre, and the Durham Fruit.
