The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham and Durham Make for Creative Collaborators

The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham, a campus of South University (Ai Raleigh-Durham), is proud to be a founding sponsor of Durham 2.0, and honored to be in the company of the area’s leaders, innovators and creators.

Ai Raleigh-Durham, which opened in 2008, is nestled in the historic American Tobacco Campus, resplendent with outdoor waterfalls, outdoor lounging and study nooks and an overall cool vibe. Given that backdrop, we can’t think of a better place for our creative warriors to call home.

The school offers associate and bachelor degree programs for creative careers in design, media arts, fashion and culinary. On a daily basis, students are busy creating works of art, be it preparing a delicate pastry, developing an exciting video game, setting an eye-catching window display or working on an interesting graphic identity.

And, with a year-round student body, faculty and staff of nearly 600, there is always something going on. Ai Raleigh-Durham students and faculty have won numerous awards and accolades. In fact, faculty members are often selected for local gallery exhibitions. The culinary team boasts awards in baking and pastry. Our students intern for local design firms while perfecting their craft. And, post- graduation, you will find many of our recently graduated students employed by the area’s top employers.

As Durham 2.0 members, we’d be delighted to give you a tour so that you can see firsthand all that The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham has to offer. Call 919-317-3150 to make arrangements or to discuss internship or career opportunities with our students.
