Durham Chamber Joins Tech Giants Sending Letter to President Trump and Congressional Leaders

The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce has joined with leaders from tech giants Google, Facebook, Dropbox, Microsoft and more in drafting a letter to President Trump addressing his recent Executive Order on Immigration.

The full text of the letter can be found here.

As the home to the Research Triangle Park, the City and County of Durham is a diverse business landscape and citizenry, enhanced by the contributions of immigrants from all backgrounds. Limits on access to Visas negatively impacts the business community and hampers the area’s robust talent pipeline. Additionally, as a city and county that embraces diversity in all areas of society, the Chamber opposes all legislation that is discriminatory in nature.

This letter was sent to President Trump, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senator Mitch McConnell and Senator Chuck Schumer.

Drafting of the letter was organization by FWD, the immigration advocacy organization
