Did you know that the arts in the Triangle create more than 31,000 full-time jobs and upwards of $850 million in total annual economic activity? With arts venues among the first to close and likely the last to reopen, the arts have suffered disproportionately from the destructive impact of the pandemic.
For the first time ever, the Orange County Arts Commission, the United Arts Council, the Durham Arts Council, and the Chatham Arts Council are joining forces to enlist support for the arts through a live event, Big Night In for the Arts!
#BigNightIn will mark a critical step forward in helping local artists and arts/cultural orgs begin their path to recovery. Dollars raised will go toward arts programming, initiatives for equity in the arts, and artist/arts organizations’ relief.
With performances by Mandolin Orange, Mike Wiley, Ariana DeBose, Branford Marsalis, and Scotty McCreery, you don’t want to miss Big Night In for the Arts on March 11, 2021 at 7 pm broadcasting on WRAL or live streaming at WRAL.com.
You can learn more about this event and/or donate at BigNightIn.org.
