For the past 6 years, the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce has been honored to host the First Responders Appreciation Breakfast at the Durham Convention Center. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic, we are not able to hold this event in-person this year.
Traditionally this community event is aimed at acknowledging the commitment of the men and women serving Durham and the surrounding areas. We celebrate and recognize first responders serving the City of Durham, Durham County, Duke University, North Carolina Central University, Durham Technical Community College, along with North Carolina State Highway Patrol – 15 divisions in total.
As we work through supporting our families, friends, and neighbors during these unprecedented times, it’s clear that the Community Champions who have been on the frontlines for all of us include not only first responders but also frontline healthcare, education, childcare, and other essential workers. To help recognize their ongoing efforts, the Durham Chamber is excited to honor these individuals alongside our first responders.
The Durham Chamber will facilitate meal deliveries and gift cards from local restaurants to recipients starting the week of September 11th and supporters at any level will be invited to a virtual event on Wednesday, September 30th at 9:00 a.m. to celebrate what we accomplish together. Join us as we support our local Durham restaurants while saying Thank You to those who work to protect, serve, and make our community a better place to be.
Say Thank You with Us
We thank our partners at Fidelity Investments, Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina, and American Tobacco Campus for their support of this appreciation effort.
