Public Policy Program

As a sponsor of the Public Policy Program of the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, you are ensuring that local, state, and federal governmental policies and decisions support a strong business climate, quality growth, and economic opportunity. Additionally, the Chamber works closely with the City of Durham and Durham County elected and administrative leaders on key local and state issues, and has solid partnerships with regional organizations and other chambers.

Economic Development

The Economic Development Committee seeks to generate capital investment, quality job growth in Durham and to strengthen and diversify the local economy.  The Committee provides guidance and support for the Chamber’s economic development program, designed to attract new industry and assist in the expansion of Durham’s existing industry.  The Economic Development Committee meets the third Wednesday of every other month at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber unless otherwise indicated in Chamber communications.
