Chamber Committees
At the Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce, we know that nobody knows Durham County business better than the people who live it each day. That’s why we’ve developed committees to help you make a difference, grow your business and maximize your membership.
Committees are the life-blood of our organization. With dedicated Chairs serving in a leadership capacity, each one does important work in support of the strategic mission of the Chamber.

Transportation Committee

Goal
To monitor, prioritize and respond to issues concerning mobility projects in coordination with statewide groups. To ensure that Durham’s surface and air transportation facilities are adequate to service the growing community, the committee also works with regional partners, including the Regional Transportation Alliance and the Triangle Transit Authority. The committee meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the Chamber at 8:15 a.m.

Goal
To advocate Chamber positions on local and state legislative issues of particular importance to the Durham business community. The Local and State Legislative Committee develops the Chamber’s annual legislative agenda and advocates Chamber positions. The committee also maintains regular contact with the N.C. General Assembly Delegation as well as City and County elected leaders. The committee meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Chamber at 8:15 a.m.
