Growing the Talent Pipeline

Durham Technical College awarded over 1,000 degrees, diplomas, and certificates to nearly 800 individuals in their curriculum programs, and nearly 150 high school equivalency credentials. In addition, in the past year, over 500 students have completed continuing education training in such areas as Biotechnology, Nursing Assistant, and Hospitality.
North Carolina Central University awarded 718 undergraduate degrees, which is the largest graduating class in the university’s 105 year history. They also awarded 438 graduate and professional degrees that included 156 law degrees, along with 64 master’s degrees in science, 59 in social work, 40 in library science and 33 in education. Other advanced degrees awarded were in arts, business administration, school administration, information science and music.
Duke University conferred 1,641 undergraduate degrees from the Trinity School of Arts and Sciences (1,299), Pratt School of Engineering (267) and Nursing (75). Duke also awarded 2,378 graduate and professional degrees in the areas of divinity, business, law, engineering, public policy, medicine and nursing.
The Art Institute of Raleigh-Durham will soon be holding their graduation ceremonies and will be awarding degrees in design, media arts, fashion and culinary.
Many of these graduates will be starting the next chapter of their lives by joining the workforce in the Durham area and becoming part of our thriving community.
