Forward-thinking employers in Durham are hosting over 200 young people ages 14-24 in paid summer internships.

Research shows work-based learning, such as summer internships, motivates young people to stay in school, graduate and steer toward careers. Providing internships prepares youth for work, builds a talent pipeline for employers and creates prosperity for our community.

Ways to participate:

  • Offer a paid summer internship (cost averages $2,000 for 6-8 weeks, 30 hours per week)
  • Pay for an intern to be placed in a community not-for-profit agency

The YouthWork program prepares both interns and employers for successful internship experiences and supports you along the way.
