Help shape our future workforce by participating in the Durham YouthWork Internship Program!

The Durham YouthWork Internship Program is a public-private partnership that cultivates the talents and skills of Durham youth by training youth to be ethical, dedicated and proactive employees through education-supported, real world workplace experience.  Each year, businesses throughout the Durham community engage youth ages 14-21 and give them an opportunity to gain work experience and develop skills.

Here’s your chance to help Durham’s future talent!

The program runs for a minimum of six weeks beginning in July after a week-long, intensive pre-employment training provided by the program. Youth typically work 30 hours per week. The cost of employing youth ranges from $2,400 to $3,600 depending upon the salary of the position and hours worked.

If your business is interested and willing to employ a Durham youth this summer, please contact James Dickens by May 1 at 919.560.4965 or email SummerYouth2013@DurhamNC.gov.
